The general public will soon receive the second booster shots against COVID-19, Department of Health (DOH) officer-in-charge Maria Rosario Vergeire announced on Wednesday.
In a press briefing, Vergeire said the Health Technology Assessment Council and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have approved the proposal of making COVID-19 2nd booster available to the general population.
"Sa ngayon, binabalangkas pa ang ating mga guidelines. Nai-present na ito sa executive committee ng Department of Health last week. Nagbigay kami ng komento at ngayon, fina-finalized na," she said.
The three COVID-19 vaccine brands to be offered are Pfizer, Moderna, and AstraZeneca.&nbsp;
"Hopefully, within the week, we can issue and we can start the implementation, the soonest time possible," she said.&nbsp;
Last year, the DOH has started the vaccination of the COVID-19 second booster but this is only given to priority groups including workers in essential health services, senior citizens, and adults with comorbidities..
