Twenty-seven Filipinos, who were affected by the Türkiye earthquake last February, have safely arrived in the country, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported on Sunday.
In a statement, DFA said this is the third batch of Filipinos that it assisted.
"The Filipinos were all smiles as they gave thanks to the Philippine Embassy in Ankara, as well as the DFA and the Philippine Government, for the quick help in securing their safety, housing and feeding them and their families, and eventually arranging for their travel back to the Philippines," it said.
DFA said the Philippine Embassy in Ankara will continue to provide assistance for Filipinos who opted to remain in Türkiye.
The assistance includes finding appropriate housing and financial programs and other services offered by the Turkish government and non-government organizations.
On February 6, magnitude 7.9 struck central Türkiye and northwest Syria.
One Filipina and her three children were slain during the killer quake.
