The Department of Health (DOH) is investigating the case of a two-year-old boy infected by the CoVid-19 virus just days after they went to a mall.
According to DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, the incident is only an isolated case and ordered their regional office to look into the said matter.
Vergeire explained that there are many factors to which how the child got infected by the virus.
The undersecretary also said that the incident will not affect the implementation of the alert level system where the NCR is at level two to which children are allowed to go out.
She also pointed out that the reason why children are allowed to go out was for them to exercise and get some sunshine and not be in crowded places like the malls and other places.
Though the case was deemed as an isolated case it raises concerns among the health experts and even the mayors.
Metro Manila mayors are now in talks about whether they should have separate regulations regarding the children in public areas.
