Two suspected members of a major drug syndicate were apprehended in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG) inside a condominium in Ermita, Manila on Thursday, August 29.
In a report by Boy Gonzales, the PNP-DEG identified the suspects as Jebrasul Amil, 37, a resident of Zamboanga Del Sur, and Rodel Nagal Mutia, 45, a resident of Molino Bacoor, Cavite.
The suspects were arrested on Thursday night, 7:45 PM at Unit 3519, 35th floor, BBB Condominiums, Barangay 676, Ermita, Manila.
Authorities seized approximately 11 kilograms of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of over Php 74 million.
In addition to the illegal drugs, deposit slips from various bank accounts were also confiscated from the suspects, which are considered a significant breakthrough in the government’s ongoing campaign against illegal drugs.
According to the PNP-DEG, the two arrested individuals are members of a large drug syndicate operating nationwide, composed of Filipinos and Chinese nationals.
