Two gang leaders in the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) on Monday have come out and said they are eyeing to press charges against suspended Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Director General Bantag for allegedly stabbing them.

In an interview with the media, gang leaders Roland Guzman and Jonathan Cañete said the stabbing happened when Bantag summoned all 13 gang commanders to his office at 11:30 am last February 1, 2022.

The two noted that the suspended BuCor General was “very drunk” when they arrived at his office.

They said Bantag, who was holding a kris — a bladed weapon, approached them one by one.

Meanwhile, Guzman said Bantag stabbed him in the hands.

The next day after the stabbing incident, Guzman and Cañete claimed that a certain “Zulueta” came to them and gave them Php 50,000 each in exchange for their silence.

May kasamang panakot….

The authorities earlier filed murder raps against Bantag and former BuCor deputy officer Ricardo Zulueta for the deaths of radio broadcaster Percival “Percy Lapid” Mabasa and alleged middleman Jun Villamor.
