A two-month-old baby boy and a three-year-old girl were rescued from rubble on Friday, Feb. 9, three days after a landslide hit Brgy. Masara, Maco, Davao de Oro, the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) reported.

"Reporting via satellite phone, PRC Rescue Team leader Van Solinap identified the rescued children as a three-year-old girl from Zone 1, Masara, Davao de Oro, and a two-month-old boy," the PRC said in a press release.
The PRC Emergency Medical Services immediately took the two children to Doctors Community Hospital in Mawab, where they were transported by the PRC’s Davao de Oro and North Cotabato ambulance units.
Meanwhile, PRC Chairman Dick Gordon expressed his joy and congratulated the rescue team.
"I am proud of you for your hard work and persistence to recover every missing person from the landslide. Thank you, Van and team, for bringing hope amid despair and showing that PRC is always first, always ready, always there,” Gordon said.
Secretary-General Dr. Gwen Pang also recognized the efforts of the PRC Team, which was on the ground even before the landslide.
"We thank the team for their unequalled service," said Dr. Pang.
Gordon assured that the PRC will continuously work to help the people in the area.
