A day before Fire Prevention month, two individuals perished in a blaze that gutted their house in Caloocan City on Tuesday night, Feb. 28.

A report from the Caloocan City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) said a woman, identified as alias “Jing-Jing,” around 40 years old, and a 9-year-old girl were trapped inside their house at Blk 57, Barangay 8, Caloocan City.

The child sustained third-degree burns and was brought to a hospital where she was declared dead on arrival.

According to RH Noche Cacas, the fire was raised to the first alarm at around 10:08 PM and was declared under control at around 10:40 PM. The fire was extinguished at around 11:50 PM.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) is still determining the cause of the fire as the amount of its damage.
