Two vehicles were struck by a fallen tree along C4 Road infront of a mall in Longos, Malabon on Tuesday morning, resulting in minor damage and briefly disrupting traffic.
According to a report by RH Edwin Duque, the incident occurred around 11:30 AM as the vehicles were heading toward Caloocan.
The tree reportedly crashed onto a silver Honda VTEC and a silver Toyota Vios. It fell onto the roof of the VTEC and the side of the Vios, causing considerable damage to both vehicles.
Fortunately, the drivers and passengers were not seriously injured.
Julius, the driver of the VTEC, was reportedly renting the vehicle for an event when the tree unexpectedly struck his car. Although shaken by the incident, he and his passengers managed to escape unharmed.
Traffic in the area was momentarily affected as the fallen tree blocked the road. However, the situation was quickly addressed when the Public Safety and Traffic Management Office (PSTMO) and the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) of Malabon arrived on the scene. They promptly cleared the debris, allowing traffic to flow again.
While no major injuries were reported, authorities continue to remind motorists of the potential hazards posed by trees along roadways, especially during adverse weather conditions.
