A 13-year-old balut vendor was shot dead by still unknown assailants while he was at a wake in Villasis, Pangasinan.
The Villasis Philippine National Police (PNP) identified the victim as Charles Edwards Serquinya, a resident of Brgy. Puelay, Villasis.
Based on the report of Villasis Chief of Police Major Glenn Dulay, Serquinya was with his mother while selling balut in a wake at around 12:00 a.m.
In a report by RH 38 Freddie Fajardo, the victim informed the mother to walk first, but a few minutes later, he was shot dead by unknown suspects riding on a motorcycle.
Three shots and a bullet of caliber 45 were found at the scene of the crime.
According to the victim’s mother, she could not recall that her son was having a fight with someone, while according to Dulay, the incident is possibly a case of mistaken identity.’
