An eleven-year-old girl was killed and two others, one a seven-year-old, wounded after being hit by a mini van in Tondo, Manila on Saturday, June 22.

In the initial investigation, it was discovered that the parked mini van was about to leave when it lurched forward and rammed into the victims, a tricycle, and a house gate along Solis Street.

The victims were rushed to the Tondo Medical Hospital, where the eleven-year-old passed away after a few hours. The two others, aged seven and 24, received treatment for their injuries.

The driver was identified by the Manila Police District (MPD) as Juan Paolo Crisostomo Bautista, who said he had been practicing. He was brought into custody while investigation on the accident is under way.
