

A fire broke out in a residential area of Carvaja Street Binondo, Manila on Friday, August 2, resulting in the deaths of 11 people who were trapped in the blaze.
According to a report by RH Boy Gonzales, firefighters faced significant challenges in extinguishing the fire, which escalated to a second alarm.
Nory Minete, a local resident, has been distraught and in tears following the tragic death of his wife, who was trapped in the fire.

Meanwhile, two of the victims were reportedly members of the Philippine Coast Guard.
The fire was declared under control at 10:04 a.m.
The Manila Police District reported that the fire originated on the first floor of a cafeteria.
As of this writing, the cause of the fire remains undetermined, and authorities are still working to confirm the total number of casualties.
