An order for the distribution of 100,000 slots for transport network vehicle service (TNVS) applications in the country will be directed by the Land Transportation and Franchising Regulatory Board (LTFRB).
According to LTFRB Engr. Riza Paches, there is no specific date yet regarding the order but the board and other LTFRB branches are studying on how it will go.
Aside from recruitments, the additional slots will also solve concerns of public transportation, Patches noted.
This will help the shortage of public transportation and the creation of more jobs especially in airports and business-intensive areas, Paches said.
Slots will be opened for two and four-wheeled motor vehicles, Paches said in an earlier statement.
Paches noted that now they have done a regulatory impact assessment that they have started and that they are in the process of updating internal rules of procedure since the public transportation landscape has changed including behavior of riders, and preferences of commuters, Paches said.
