The death toll from the impact of Typhoon Enteng and 'Habagat' nationwide has risen to ten, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).
Based on its latest report on Tuesday, the NDRRMC said the casualties are from Calabarzon, Western Visayas, and Central Visayas.
Dir. Edgar Posadas of the Office of Civil Defense stressed that the reported numbers are still being verified, specifically to ascertain whether the incidents are typhoon-related.
DZRH News initially reported that the death toll included seven people from Antipolo City, Rizal. Among them were three individuals buried by landslides in Barangay San Jose, including a 27-year-old pregnant woman and two teenage siblings.
The adverse weather has now affected 37,867 families, which equates to over 147,000 people. Among them, around 30,000 are temporarily residing in 218 evacuation centers.
The headquarters of the OCD has been on red alert for the last two days due to the ongoing calamity.
