Ten individuals were injured after an elevator at MRT-3's Taft Station malfunctioned due to a technical issue last March 8.
"Nasira ang main drive chain ng nasabing escalator, dahilan ng pagmalfunction nito, kung saan ilang pasahero ang naapektuhan," the DOTr MRT-3 said in a Facebook post.
The management apologized to the affected passengers and assured them that aside from covering their medical expenses, it would also provide necessary check-ups and follow-up treatments.
On Monday, DOTr MRT-3 announced that the elevator had been successfully repaired in collaboration with Sumitomo Corporation.
The elevator was re-opened and fully operational by 5:33 PM.
"This event reinforces the DOTr's commitment to the privatization of transportation infrastructure, such as the MRT-3, to enhance safety and convenience for commuters," it stated.
Passengers are encouraged to report similar incidents to the MRT-3 hotline (09957363129) for quicker assistance.
