Ten classrooms and two offices in Las Piñas were consumed by a fire which had escalated to the second alarm on Monday morning.
According to a security guard interviewed by RH 15 Jecelle Ricafort, an initial investigation found that the blaze began in a computer laboratory on the third floor of the Dr. Filemon C. Aguilar Memorial College in Doña Manuela Subdivision, Pamplona Tres. This was confirmed by the institution’s Vice President for Quality Assurance and Research Extension.
The second alarm was raised at around 8:30 AM, and the fire was declared under control by 8:52 AM. It was successfully put out at around 9 AM.
There were no casualties, as the students are currently on Christmas break.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) stated they will continue to investigate the cause of the conflagration and determine the total cost of damages.
