Police Regional Office 4-B continues hot pursuit operation to apprehend remaining suspects in the ambush and killing of broadcaster Cris Bonduquin in Oriental Mindoro.
This comes after the driver of the getaway motorcycle ridden by the assailants was also killed when he was accidentally hit by the car of Bonduquin's son.
Initial investigation revealed that Bonduquin was standing in front of a convenience store when a Honda XRM 125 motorcycle with plate number DD 22153 arrived with two suspects on board.
One of them alighted from the motorcycle and shot the victim several times, resulting in his immediate demise.
As per the report of on-case investigator PSSG Don Emil Roldan, the suspects fled towards Barangay Saul when Bonduquin's son chased after them.
According to the Philippine National Police (PNP) report, the car driven by Bonduquin's son collided with the motorcycle ridden by the gunman and his accomplice, causing the driver, identified as Narciso Guntan, to fall and hit a steel barrier.
The accomplice, who served as the gunman, managed to escape.
Meanwhile, the Presidential Task Force on Media Security assured that they will be focusing their attention on the case of Bonduquin.
