One individual is reportedly missing in Western Visayas amidst the onsalught of the combined southwest monsoon and Super Typhoon Goring, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported on Wednesday, August 30.

According to NDRRMC's 8 AM situational bulletin, the report on the missing individual is still being verified.

But no injuries have been reported, so far.

Meanwhile, the agency also reported that the affected individuals reached a total number of 56,410 families or 196,926 individuals.

The regions affected were in Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Calabazron, Mimaropa, Western Visayas, and Cordirella Administrative Region (CAR).

Of the total number, 9,608 families or 35,095 individuals were prompted to flee from their homes and take shelter inside 376 evacuation centers. While 3,407 families, or 13,902 individuals are staying with their friends and family members in other places.

About 956 families or 3,559 individuals were pre-emptively evacuated by authorities.

NDRRMC stated that there are 28 roads and 19 bridges in the aforementioned regions are still not passable to motorists.

Six cities or municipalities in Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, and Western Visayas are still experiencing power interruption.

Two cities in Calabarzon and Western Visayas are facing water interruption.

The continuous winds and rains, induced by the southwest monsoon and Goring, damaged a total of 134 houses in the six regions. Of these, 82 were partially damaged while 52 were totally damaged.

Ten infrastructures in Cagayan, Mimaropa, Western Visayas, and CAR sustained damages that amounted to ₱41.175 million.

The government has extended ₱7.84 million worth of assistance to the families in the form of family food pack, family kit, food, hygiene kit, and also financial aid.
