In Western Visayas, one fatality has been reported in connection with Tropical Cyclones Goring and Hanna, as confirmed by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).
Amidst the ongoing situation, Pototan, Iloilo, has been placed under a state of calamity, highlighting the extent of the cyclones' impact on the region.
These cyclones have collectively affected 408,053 individuals, comprising 112,384 families, across multiple regions in the Philippines.
The destructive force of the cyclones has resulted in damage to 502 residential structures, with 401 experiencing partial damage and 101 declared completely destroyed.
Agriculture has incurred losses valued at P421,195,721.79, as per reports from the NDRRMC.
Widespread power supply interruptions have occurred across six areas in Calabarzon and Western Visayas, with two regions also grappling with water supply issues.
Compounding the situation, 71 ports remain non-operational, leaving 234 passengers stranded alongside five motorboats and one ship, all of which are currently immobilized in Calabarzon and Western Visayas.
To address the immediate needs of those affected, the NDRRMC has prov/ided financial assistance totaling P17,680,498.06
Furthermore, as of Saturday morning, Tropical Cyclone Hanna is currently moving westward towards the sea east of Taiwan, continuing to intensify the southwest monsoon or Habagat.
It's noteworthy that Super Typhoon Goring exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) last Wednesday.
