An inmate died, while two others were injured in a stabbing incident at the New Bilibid Prison on Thursday morning, Jecelle Ricafort reported.

According to a report by NBP Acting Superintendent, Corrections Chief Inspector Roger Boncales, the incident occurred at 7:15 AM at Gate 1-A, Quadrant 4 of the Maximum Security Camp.

The Bureau of Corrections has withheld the names of the inmates involved until their families have been informed.

To prevent similar disturbances or incidents, the BuCor has directed all superintendents of operating prisons and penal farms to implement strict precautionary measures in the facilities under their supervision.
