Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto extended his gratitude to actresses Angel Locsin and Anne Curtis for donating PHP 1 million to their municipality in order to boost its efforts against coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
“Dinonate nila ito walang fanfare, walang media. Ni hindi nga kami nagkita. Iniwan lang nila ‘yung tseke,” Sotto said. “Thank you sa lahat ng iba pang tumutulong, at nagmamalasakit, alam ko man o hindi.”
Anne and Angel were among the 44 entertainment personalities who donated P6 million cash raised from an initiative that will help the country in the fight against COVID-19.
Other local governments who received P1 million each from Curtis and Locsin’s “Shop and Share” initiative were the local governments of Manila, Baguio, Taguig, and Quezon City.
According to Sotto, his municipality will use the donations to buy more COVID-19 vaccines.
