The “Squid Game: The Challenge” contestants on Friday, Nov. 24, were eyeing to file charges against Netflix and the showrunners following alleged injuries obtained while filming the game show.

According to a Deadline report, two unnamed players claimed they suffered hypothermia and nerve damage as shot scenes during cold conditions in Britain for the show’s opening game, “Red Light, Green Light.”

Express Solicitors representing the unnamed players said its clients risked their health and stayed motionless for the game in a bid to stay in the competition.

“We recognise people may see this as a classic David and Goliath battle with the company and its production partners,” Express Solicitors CEO Daniel Slade said.

“Contestants thought they were taking part in something fun and those injured did not expect to suffer as they did. Now they have been left with injuries after spending time being stuck in painful stress positions in cold temperatures,” he added.

According to the game show’s spokesperson, no lawsuit has been filed against them by any of the “Squid Game” contestants, adding that they “take the welfare of our contestants extremely seriously.”

Meanwhile, Deadline earlier reported that the game show encountered independent safety assessment since three of the 456 players competing for the prize needed medical attention during filming.

“Squid Game: The Challenge” is a reality game show based on the South Korean hit series “Squid Game” where 456 real contestants battle to win the $4.56 million prize. It premiered on November 23.
