Living her life to the fullest on the beautiful island of Siargao, Andi Eigenmann revealed that despite not auditioning for the titular character for the Philippine adaptation of 'Marimar,' she took it personally when she was not cast for the role.

She recalled that moment after reading a comment from one of her avid fans who likened her to the fictional character and poked fun at her younger self, saying that she cried over it even though she did not even audition to get the role.

The reason behind the comment was because of Eigenmann's recent photo which she was seen posing at the beach wearing a floral top and skirt with her natural curls and sunburnt skin.

“Fun fact: I cried so hard when I didn’t get cast as Marimar. [For your information], I was so young and I didn’t even audition (same with ‘Dyesebel’), but you get it!” she said.

“And now, here I am living that ‘Marimar’ and ‘Dyesebel’ and ‘Marina’ life in real life!” she added, referring to the local mermaid characters. “Manifestation is real," she added.

In 2018, Eigenmann moved to Siargao living in the island province with her fiancé, celebrity surfer Philmar Alipayo, and their kids Lilo and Koa, as well as Ellie.

Alipayo and Eigenmann own a surf school and snack bar on the island which was opened to the public in April last year.

Meanwhile, the titular character of the Mexican telenovela - 'Marimar' - was portrayed by Marian Rivera in 2007 and Megan Young in 2015.
