Despite losing the presidential bid, former vice president Atty. Leni Robredo never failed to fulfill her promise to the couple from Iloilo City who asked her to be their godmother for their wedding during the campaign rally.
Robredo promised the couple to attend the wedding and be part of their lives as the godmother.
On January 10, the couple named GM and Pinky tied the knot and the former vice president was present and took a photo together.
On her official Facebook page, Robredo posted a photo of the couple's old photo holding a board with their request on it and a recent picture of her with the couple on their wedding day.
“Fulfilled a promise today. Congratulations, GM and Pinky,” she captioned.
The bride reposted Robredo's photo and expressed her gratitude for her presence during the most important chapter of their lives.
“Dear Ninang Leni, Our hearts are filled with gratitude and joy to have you, someone who we look up to, as our godparent in this very important chapter of our lives. Thank you for graciously saying “yes” despite of your busy schedule, VP. Tumutupad ka talaga sa pangako. Promises are meant to be kept and fulfilled," she captioned.
“We know that you can shed the light to our marriage the same way you did to our country. Your support and love on this special day will always be remembered and cherished. We love you!” she added.
The posted photo reached over 3,000 reactions and almost 3,000 shares.
