The Liga ng Transportasyon at Operators sa Pilipinas (LTOP) slammed a supplier of modern public utility jeepneys.
LTOP national president Orlando Marquez said on Tuesday, March 7, that the supplier doubled the price of spare parts after selling many units.
"Mura yung mga piyesa pero nung nakapag-deliver na siya ng napakaraming units, naging doble na yung kanyang presyo," Marquez said during DZRH's Magandang Umaga Pilipinas.
"Nilinlang niya yung ating mga kasamahan sa kooperatiba," he added.
Marquez also accused the supplier of threatening to void the warranty of the units if the operators will buy spare parts from other retailers.
"Yung piyesa gusto niya doon ka lang bibili sa kanya dahil kung hindi ka doon bibili sa kanya, tatanggalin na daw niya yung warranty," the transport group leader said.
"Pumunta na lang yung mga operator sa Banaue, pumunta na lang sa Evangelista dito sa Makati, mas mura," he added.
Marquez admitted that the problem made it difficult for modern PUJ operators to maintain their units, which came from China.
