GMG Production announced that Boublil and Schönberg’s classic musical “Miss Saigon” is looking for young actors who can play the role of the lead characters’ son, Tam, for its upcoming Asian tour in Manila and other territories.
The organizer announced on its Facebook page last January 5 that it is holding the auditions from January 11 to 12 at the Theatre at Solaire in Parañaque City.
Auditionees are directed to pre-register through the GMG Production’s website until January 9.
The ages of the child actors must range from four to eight years old, which can also be portrayed by any gender, with a maximum height restriction of 115 cm.
The organizer said that if the auditionee has long hair, it needs to be cut fast once casted, adding that he or she must be confident but can still be still and silent, as Tam’s role does not speak or sing.
The award-winning musical will set to stage in March under GMG Productions in association with GWB Entertainment.
The story of “Miss Saigon” talks about the story of a young Vietnamese woman named Kim who fell in love with an American GII named Chris, which is set in Vietnam in the 1970s.
In 1989 and 1991, “Miss Saigon" was first shown at the West End and Broadway, with Lea Salonga taking the main lead.
