‘It’s a prank!’ Arci Muñoz and JM de Guzman remain to be best friends

It’s a prank! Seems like the bestfriends-turned-lovers troupe for celebrities Arci Muñoz and JM de Guzman will just remain in the imagination of their fans after the two revealed on Monday that it was all just for laughs.

What started the ‘kilig’ for fans was when Arci shared a video where JM was seen giving her flowers on the shore in Boracay and saying, “matagal na tayong mag-best friends pero, pwede bang manligaw?”

In the caption, the actress-singer wrote, “Just really glad that the whole family was able to witness this beautiful moment.”

JM, likewise, posted a photo of him and Arci with emojis as caption.

As it turns out, the snippet was from the 7-minute YouTube vlog of the actress featuring their family’s Boracay vacation with JM tagging along.

The video showed that JM’s “pwede ba kita ligawan” remark was actually part of the proposal of Arci’s brother Manolet to his girlfriend. His brother then went down on one knee, revealed the ring from his pocket, and then popped the question of which the lady willingly answered yes.

Arci and JM have known each other even before they started their respective showbiz careers. The two actually met as Theatre Arts students in UP Diliman.
