Rather than return to the Philippines, a Filipina mother decided to stay in Ukraine for her husband amidst the ongoing conflict between the Eastern European country and Russia.
"Hindi ko kayang iwan yung asawa ko," said Rhea Rhose Ramos Taibova on Thursday, March 3, during DZRH's Breaktime.
In response to Russia sending military forces to Ukraine, the Ukranian government announced Martial Law and barred men aged 18 to 60 years from crossing the borders of the country.
Taibova, a mother of a seven-year-old child, hopes that the crisis will soon come to an end and that the situation in Ukraine will return to normal.
"I love Ukraine so much kasi bago mangyari ang lahat ng war na ito ay sobrang tahimik ng Ukraine. I mean, you will really love the place, you will love the people.
Taibova and her child are currently staying with her in-laws in an underground bunker originally used by her in-laws to store food.
