National artist Ricky Lee gave his approval to "GomBurZa”, an film entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), which made him feel even more proud of his Filipino roots.
On his X (formerly Twitter) account, "GomBurZa” director Pepe Diokno posted a screenshot of the national artist’s congratulatory message to him for doing a great job.
Diokno could not hide his emotions and shared that he received the sweetest message from the national artist.
Lee described the film as “magnificent”, saying that he has never felt more Filipinos after leaving the theater.

“GomBurZa” is a retelling story of the martyr priests Jose Burgos, Mariano Gomez, and Jacinto Zamora as played by Cedrick Juan, Dante Rivero, and Enchong Dee, repectively.
Other cast of the historical film are Elijah Canlas as Paciano Rizal, Ketchup Eusebio as Francisco Zaldua, and Khalil Ramos as Jose Rizal.
