More than 10,000 cops will be deployed by the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) to secure the Labor Day celebration on May 1.
According to NCRPO chief Maj. Gen. Edgar Alan Okubo, approximately 1,000 Reactionary Standby Support Force (RSSF) members from the regional headquarters would be deployed among the 10,529 cops stationed around Metro Manila.
He stated that Labor Day is typically commemorated by major activities and protests organized by labor organizations and progressive organizations.
According to Okubo, the security strategy comprises strategic personnel deployment, civil disturbance management, anti-criminality intervention, counter-terrorism, traffic management, an emergency reaction team, lightning rally monitoring, and other associated security measures.
Except for Freedom Parks, he maintained the "no permit, no rally" stance.
