“Euphoria” star Hunter Schafer was arrested following her attendance at a pro-Palestine protest during US President Joe Biden’s taping of “Late Night With Seth Meyers,” reports said.
According to Vulture, Schafer was arrested for joining the Voice for Peace organization to disrupt Biden’s appearance on the show last Monday, February 27.
“Hunter was arrested at the protest, along with 50 other people. We commend her commitment to Palestinian freedom and to a future of justice for everyone,” a JVP spokesperson said in a statement.
“Our Jewish tradition teaches us that life is precious. As Jewish New Yorkers we are absolutely outraged that President Biden is actively supporting a genocide against the Palestinians of Gaza,” Jay Saper of JVP said in a statement.
JVP protested at the 30 Rockefeller Center headquarters of NBC News that holds the “Late Night With Seth Meyers." Thirty protesters were reportedly arrested by the New York City Police Department and Secret Service.
“Biden’s deadly foreign policy has funded and fueled genocide in Gaza,” the Jewish-led anti-Zionist organization wrote in an Instagram post.
“The President needs to start listening to the American people – not the far-Right Israeli government indiscriminately bombing the people of Gaza, destroying 70% of infrastructure, including hospitals, universities and the electricity and water grids,” it said,
