The new hosts of the long-running noontime show "Eat Bulaga" on Monday have finally been revealed, five days after its original hosts, Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon, announced their departure from producer Tape, Inc.
Cassy and Mavy Legaspi, Buboy Villar, Paolo Contis, Betong Sumaya, and Alexa Miro are the show's new hosts.
However, with the new faces of the noontime show, Netizens also voiced their diverse opinions, with the hashtag #EatBulaga trending on the microblogging site Twitter.
The avid fans noticed that the show's name, "Eat Bulaga," and the "EB" emblem were kept, but the classic theme tune that was previously played before the show began was not heard.
They also honestly said that they prefer the original hosts, saying that it would be better if the show has Jose, Wally, and Paolo - most popularly known as JoWaPao.
On May 31, Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon announced their departure from TAPE, Inc., the producers of "Eat Bulaga" and a GMA-7 block timer.
Other hosts quickly followed suit, including Paolo Ballesteros, Jose Manalo, Maine Mendoza, Ryzza Mae Dizon, Wally Bayola, Ryan Agoncillo, and Allan K.
GMA Network made an instant comment stating, "We are saddened" by the turn of events, while TAPE Inc. stated it was "unfortunate, but life must go on."
She also addressed GMA's contract with Tape, Inc., stating that they have to honor the contract as long as there is no breach of its provisions.
GMA's talent arm, Sparkle Artist Center, is ready to supply talent for Eat Bulaga, according to Gozon-Valdes.
