John Arcilla and Star Magic were slammed by “On the Job: The Missing 8's renowned director Erik Matti, as the latter expressed his frustration through a post after the two failed to acknowledge the director on their Instagram posts about the Senate Resolution that commended the veteran actor for bagging a victory at the Volpi Cup.
Arcilla is the first Southeast Asian actor to bring home the acting honor at the Venice Film Festival in Italy for portraying a character in Matti's “On the Job: The Missing 8.”
Sen. Lito Lapid introduced a resolution praising Arcilla for his accomplishments. Arcilla was recognized as "living proof of the Filipino's world-class talent, skill, and passion, which inspires aspiring artists and creative individuals in the country."
On Friday, Feb. 24, Matti posted screenshots of Arcilla and Star Magic's posts about the resolution, which did not include Matti's name or the title of the film.
Arcilla was able to mention his sponsors, but allegedly left out the film that led to him winning the acting award, which disappointed Matti.
A few hours after Matti expressed his feelings, the talent agency changed its caption to include the director's name as well as the title of the film.
"Lahat ng sponsor mo sa derma at diet mo minention mo yung movieng nagpanalo sayo di mo masabi?!! Bastos kayo," part of his caption said.

In a separate post, Arcilla thanked Matti, the film, and its producers.
