'Avatar: The Last Airbender' animated movie unveils release date in October 2025

Fans of the iconic 2005 animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender have reason to celebrate, as one of the highly anticipated movie adaptations finally gets a release date.

The film will hit theaters on October 10, 2025, according to an announcement on the franchise's official Facebook page.

Paramount confirmed the release date during the CinemaCon 2023 event, revealing that the movie will be titled 'The Last Airbender', and will be one of three films based on the popular franchise.

While details about the plot remain under wraps, fans can expect to see the beloved characters of air nomad Avatar Aang and his friends Katara, Sokka, Toph, and Zuko in their adult years, as they continue their journey following the defeat of the Fire Nation and Fire Lord Ozai.

The Last Airbender will be a 2D animated film produced by Nickelodeon Animation, Paramount Animation, and Avatar Studios.

Original creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko will also be on board to produce the movie.

The story is set between the end of the century-long war between the four elemental tribes and before the era of the water Avatar Korra, making it a must-see for fans who want to delve deeper into the Avatar universe.

Avatar: The Last Airbender first aired on Nickelodeon in 2005, captivating audiences with its epic tale of adventure and self-discovery.

The show follows Aang, the last Airbender and the current Avatar, as he embarks on a quest to master the four elements and save the world from the tyranny of the Fire Nation.
