Presidential aspirant Leody De Guzman said they are inclined to push through with their proclamation rally despite not obtaining a permit from the Commission on Elections (COMELEC).
"Nasa ganung sitwasyon kami na obligadong ituloy dahil malaki na yung paghahandang ginawa," De Guzman told reporters from his home.
(We are in the situation where we are obligated to push through because we made massive preparations for this.)
"Ang hirap iatras," he added.
(It’s hard to turn back.)
De Guzman and his running mate, Walden Bello, will be holding their proclamation rally at the Bantayog ng mga Bayani starting 6PM.
However, COMELEC said earlier on the day that their proclamation rally does not have a permit and could be considered an "election offense" if it pushes through.
According to De Guzman, he has yet to talk to the organizers of the proclamation rally.
"Siguro pag-usapan namin ng partido na siyang nag-organize nito kung papaano, kasi dapat sila 'yung may responsibilidad na ayusin ang lahat ng mga bagay na may kaugnayan sa proklamasyon," said the presidential aspirant.
(We will probably talk to the party that organized this on what to do, because they have the responsibility to organize everything that is related to the proclamation.)
The different presidentiables will kick off their proclamation rallies on Tuesday, also the first day of the campaign period, for the 2022 national elections.
