In the December 2022 survey of the Social Weather Stations (SWS), the House of Representatives on Sunday expressed its elation over the "very good" rating the lower had received.
In a statement, House Speaker Martin Romualdez said he was proud of the members and the commitment they showcased to advance pro-people legislative measures.
Romualdez expressed his gratitude to the House members for their support and cooperation, which enabled him to push for measures addressing people's needs.
Also, the House, Senate, Supreme Court, and Cabinet under President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. obtained a "very good" net satisfaction rating, according to the survey.
The House got a +56 rating, the Senate a +68 rating, while the SC and the Cabinet scored +53 and +50, respectively.
Elpidio Barzaga, a representative for Cavite's fourth congressional district, claimed that the good ranking the House obtained from SWS was due to both the leadership and the competency of the members.
Romualdez is "one of the most productive, diligent, and industrious leaders the lower house has ever seen," according to Barzaga, who said that House members take their lead from him.
Before the start of the Lenten recess, the Lower House approved 23 of the 31 bills that the Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council had ranked highest in importance.
Rep. Elizaldy Co of the Ako Bicol Party-List also attributed the high level of public satisfaction to Romualdez's diligent efforts, which were returned by the other members.
The study was carried out from December 10 to December 14 of last year, which corresponds to the time when the House of Representatives approved the PHP5.268 trillion national budget for 2023.
The House passed 19 of President Marcos' priority laws before 2022 came to an end, including the SIM (subscriber identity module) Registration Act and the motion to postpone the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections until October of this year.
