Duterte, Tulfo, Robredo emerge as top presidential bets in SWS survey

Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte, Senator Raffy Tulfo, and former Vice President Leni Robredo led the commissioned survey on presidential bets for 2028 national polls conducted by the Social Weather Stations (SWS).

Based on the results of the polls, Duterte topped the list as she garnered a vote share of 28 percent.

Trailing Duterte is Tulfo with 11 percent and Robredo, who previously ran as presidential bet in 2022 national elections, with 6 percent.

Other presidentiables are former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte with 3 percent and former Senator Manny Pacquiao with 2 percent.

Filipinos also preferred former Manila mayor Francisco ‘Isko Moreno’ Domagoso, President Bongbong Marcos Jr., Senator Imee Marcos, and Ilocos Norte 1st District Rep. Sandro Marcos as their presidential bets in 2028 with 1 percent each.

Among those surveyed, 41 percent were undecided or refused to name one politician.

Most of those who voted for Sara Duterte as the potential successor of President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. came from Mindanao at 49 percent, Visayas at 27 percent, National Capital Region (NCR) at 25 percent, and Balance Luzon at 18 percent.

Commissioned by founder and former representative of LPGMA party list Arnel Ty, the poll was conducted from April 15 to April 18 with 1,200 adults interviewed face-to-face.

Three hundred participants each from Metro Manila, Balance of Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao were asked the question “According to the Constitution, the term of Pres. Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. is up to 2028 only, and there will be an election for a new President in May 2028. Who do you think is the best leader who should succeed Pres. Marcos, Jr. as President?”.
