American folk duo Us The Duo revealed that they had been separated for a while.

The couple Michael and Carissa Alvarado took to Instagram on March 28 to share the personal news through a joint statement.

“Us The Duo was created back in 2012 as a place for us to share our music with the world. We’re so happy to let you know that we have plenty of exciting things on the way for 2024," the couple said.

They added that they would be dropping singles, remixes and an acoustic Christmas release this year.

“In the meantime, we did want to let you know a bit about our personal lives. The two of us are no longer married, but we still have so much love for each other, and most importantly, for our daughter Xyla," their statement went on.

Carissa and Michael said that they have "been living on our own separate journeys for quite some time now."

"…Although life looks a little bit different than before, we are both still creating and absolutely love being the best co-parents we can. Xyla has also transitioned wonderfully into this new normal and is still her happy and joyful self!" they assured fans.

In their announcement, the Us the Duo said their separation hasn't affected their professional lives, saying they will continue to release new music together.

They added their next release will be "coming VERY SOON."

"We know our music means so much to you all, as it does to us…. The message, the feelings and the love in our past music will always be our truth for that time in our lives and we hope you’ll continue to cherish the music and your memories attached to it for eternity," they continued.
