A police officer from the Philippine National Police-Aviation Security Group (PNP-AVSE Group) is facing charges of robbery and homicide after killing a motorcyclist in Brgy. San Dionisio, Parañaque City, last Saturday, March 30.

The killing reportedly happened at around 6:40 AM on Saturday when Neil Wong, 27, was intercepted by Patrolman Jayrome Licuanan.

Licuanan fired a gun against Wong, who was pronounced dead on the spot, and allegedly tried to steal the latter's motorcycle but failed and ran.

The Parañaque police immediately arrested Licuanan.

Interviewed by RH Noche Cacas on DZRH's Dos Por Dos, PBGen. Christopher Abrahano, director of the AVSE Group, said Licuanan has been an active member of their group since 2019 and was assigned to a mobile patrol security unit in an airport.

Abrahano said they still have no clear outlook on the suspect's motif due to his inconsistent answers.

"Hindi malinaw yung kaniyang sagot kaya nagrely nalang sa mga witnesses. In fact, yung mga witnesses ng Parañaque pulis nabanggit nila na talaga na mayroong altercation na nangyare between doon sa biktima atsaka doon sa suspek," he said.

"Ang sinasabi nitong supek natin [Liquanan], binato raw siya pero that remains to be proven pa," the director added.

The AVSE Group director said they are still coordinating with the Parañaque police to confirm the robbery case.
