Maintenance works have commenced on the Metro Rail Transit (MRT) Line 3 and Light Rail Transit Line 2 on Holy Thursday, April 6.

The MRT3 and LRT2 management has carried out station cleaning, painting of mast poles for the overhead catenary system (OCS) that supplies electricity to the trains, OCS and rolling stock maintenance, and other related activities.

"Sinimulan na ang maintenance works sa buong linya ng MRT-3 ngayong Huwebes Santo, Abril 6. Ilan sa mga aktibidad ngayong araw ang general cleaning sa mga istasyon ng linya," DOTr MRT-3 shared to public.

"Kasalukuyan na ring isinasagawa ang pagpipintura ng mast poles ng overhead catenary system (OCS), na siyang nagsusuplay ng kuryente sa mga tren ng MRT-3," it added.

Likewise, LRT-2 has shared photos of maintenance activities conducted in their train stations.

"Kasabay nang isinasagawang annual maintenance activities sa LRT-2 system, full force naman ang mga utility personnel sa pagsasagawa ng general cleaning sa LRT-2 Depot at sa revenue line," Light Rail Transit Authority-LRT2 announced.

"Mabusisi nilang nililinis ang mga station facilities at equipment tulad ng riles, station's roofing, escalators, elevators at hagdan," they added.

As part of these maintenance works, rail services in Metro Manila, including LRT1 and the Philippine National Railways, will be suspended from April 6 to 9. Operations will resume on April 10.
