Local government units (LGU) enjoy the benefits brought about by the creation of the electronic Business One Stop Shop (eBOSS).

San Roque, Northern Samar mayor Maria Ana Abalon said on Wednesday, April 10, that eBOSS allowed businesses to operate easier in her municipality, promoted economic growth and development, as well as encouraged entrepreneurship and innovation.

"It has made our municipality a more attractive destination to businesses looking to establish themself in a more sufficient, supportive, and efficient municipality where they can process their businesses licenses and permits from the comfort of their home, and the convenience of their office," Abalon said during DILG sa DZRH Breaktime.

Batangas City Business Permits & Licensing Office head Ditas Rivera also shared that eBOSS helped the city implement Republic Act 11032, also known as the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act. particularly the zero-contact policy.

"Dahil sa eBOSS, real time ng pwedeng i-avail ng clients ang online services ng Batangas City kahit saan sila naroroon," Rivera said.

"Dahil din sa eBOSS, hindi na kailangan madalas ang overtime services ng ating mga empleyado sapagkat meron na tayong eBOSS. Anytime, real time ito, pwede nilang i-avail ang ating serbisyo," she added.

Rivera explained that eBOSS reduced the need for taxpayers to visit one-stop shops to avail the services of the LGU.

In order for encourage people to avail the convenience provided by eBOSS, Abalon said the San Roque LGU provides information, education, and communication drive.

The mayor said the LGU also created a video tutorial on how to access the system, and a support system that assists clients making use of eBOSS.

Abalon said her constituents could also access services provided by eBOSS through their mobile phones.

Batangas City also launched an information drive to teach business owners on how to use the services provided by eBOSS.

"Binibigyan din natin sila ng mga leaflet. Meron din tayong mga available na video para sa kanila. Also doon sa inspection report nila at inspection slip, nandoon yung QR code kung saan kapag nag-click sila ay makikita nila yung buong proseso," Rivera explained.

Abalon assured that eBOSS employs a robust security measures, including user authentication mechanisms, data encryption, and data access control to ensure that information on business owners remains safe.

"So far wala naman kaming na-experience na problem as far as cybersecurity is concerned," the mayor said.

Batangas City, meanwhile, established an IT division, and hired a third-party contractor for the security of the online platform, and to prevent system issues.

RA 11032 mandates LGUs to establish eBOSS, an online platform to receive and process applications, receive payments, and issue approved licenses, clearances, permits, or authorizations.
