Four children were stabbed to death by their stepfather inside their home in Brgy. Cabuco, Trece Martires City in Cavite on Thursday, March 9.
Based on the police's initial investigation, barangay officials first received the stabbing incident report from the mother of the victim who is an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) in Saudi Arabia.
Upon arrival at the crime scene, the respondents found the remains of the victims lying in the room together with the lifeless body of the suspect identified as Felimon Escalona, 38 years old.
The four victims were identified as Princess, 14 years old; Bianca, 10 years old; Jackyln, 8 years old, and Conrado, 6 years old.
The responders also found a message that was written using blood on the wall that says “Pasensya na, mahal kita.”
Police said that Escalona even took a selfie lying with the dead bodies of the children and sent it to the suspects’ mother.
The suspect and the children were immediately brought to the nearest hospital for a chance of revival.
According to the authorities, jealousy is the possible motive behind the crime. It said that the OFW mother and the suspect had been in a relationship for only six months.
The mother gave the stepfather custody of her children as she had to work abroad.
Police are still investigating whether the suspect used illegal drugs before committing the crime.
