Fire blazes mall in Puerto Princesa

A fire broke out at a mall in Puerto Princesa last night.

According to SFO2 Rico Pagmanoja of the Puerto Princesa fire station, the fire started at the third floor of the New City Commercial Center.

The fire went to general alarm and was declared under control at 1:30 a.m.

Authorities are looking at electrical wiring as the cause of the fire. (Luisito Antonio Santos)

 

Men arrested for carrying guns

Two men were arrested in different operations of the Philippine National Police for carrying guns in Batangas.

Arnold Pasumbal, 37, was first arrested in Brgy. Dominador East, Alitagtag.

Pasumbal was arrested after his neighbors complained because of his involvement in numerous riots in the area.

Gener Dela Cruz was next arrested at a checkpoint in Sto. Tomas.

Police recovered a 22 rifle and an unlicensed motor.

Both suspects are facing charges of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition. (Luisito Antonio Santos)

 

Deceased 80’s sexy star’s body yet to decay

Of the past 29 years, the deceased body of Cebuana sexy star Claudia Zobel has yet to decay.

The family of Claudia found out that after unearthing her body at the Queen City Memorial Garden in Cebu City, her body has yet to decay.

The Philippine National Police Crime Lab Medico Legal explained that there are many explanations to the perplexing occurrence.

One is that the earth that entered her casket doesn’t have moist or her casket is closed tightly that the moisture cannot enter inside the casket. (Malou R. Cabral)

   

LTFRB suspends bus franchise after Palawan road mishap

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board decided to suspend for one month the company of the bus responsible for crashing into a Toyota Innova in Palawan, leaving seven persons dead.

Based on the LTFRB office, the bus isn’t registered as for-hire this year.

According to the LTFRB, 32 units from the Roro Bus Transport Services will stop their operations temporarily.

Meanwhile, the LTFRB issued a Show-Cause Order against the said company which gives them 72 hours to give their defense against suspension.   (Aly Narvaez)

 

2 teachers die after assault

Two teachers died after they were attacked by unidentified suspects in Lamitan City, Basilan.

The husband-and-wife teachers died on-the-spot due to gunshots while their companion is severely injured.

Based on the investigation, the victims were strolling Maloong Canal when they were attacked by the suspects.

Authorities are now investigating the motive and identification of the suspects, who quickly fled the scene after taking the victim’s motorcycle. (Luisito Antonio Santos)
