In America, 19 were injured in a latest shooting in New Orleans over the weekend.

The said attack against the victims happened amid the Mother’s Day neighborhood parade in the Southern City.

According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the suspects started shooting while the parade was on-going.

No arrest was made and the FBI only considers it as a street violence and not a terror attack.

In Seoul, the US and South Korea continued with their latest joint naval drill in the Busan sea.

The two-day exercise started with the 97 ton aircraft carrier, the USS Nimitz.

The USS Nimitz is considered as one of the biggest warships in the whole world.

Aside from the USS Nimitz, other naval ships that are armed with guided-missile cruisers and guided missile destroyer participated in the said navy exercise.

Meanwhile in Riyadh, the World Health Organization issued a warning against the possibility of the new SARS virus to be transmitted through close human contact.

According to Assistant Director-General Keiji Fukuda, though there’s no evidence yet that the Coronavirus can be transferrable through human-to-human, they can’t deny the fact that there are already indications that prove that their theory is right.

A public health expert expressed that because of the unique strain of the SARS-like virus, you can’t disregard the angle of a possible human contamination.   (Rommel Fuertes)


 

Bangladeshi rescuers see daylight, rescue worker

Bangladeshi rescuers saw one end of a tunnel and are speculating that there are some who are still alive as they were buried after the Rana Plaza building collapsed.

They retrieve one of the workers and was trapped for 17 days.

According to authorities, they were surprised when they heard a sound of a hammer under the collapsed building and when they dug, they saw the worker.

The victim narrated that while waiting for rescue, he ate dried food around him for 15 days while drinking a bottle of water that he brought before the tragic incident happened. (KRISTINE JAVIER – JABSON)

 

When animals attack

California, USA- An elderly died after she was attacked by four pitbulls while she was out jogging in Los Angeles, California, USA.

In line with this, authorities issued a warning to all LA residents to be wary against dogs especially during the wee hours.

Because of the said incident, authorities also had to capture some dogs to figure out which ones are responsible in biting the old woman.

Sheriff Lt. John Corina confirmed that a woman who was inside her car witnessed the whole incident and honked her horn so that the dogs will leave the victim.

The old lady called out for help but one of the dogs went after those who responded to the victim’s plea.
