FOI Bill sees some sort of daylight

The Freedom of Information Bill has made it through on the Committee level of the Senate Committee on Public Information and Mass Media.

According to Senator Grace Poe, Chairman of the Committee on Public Information and Mass Media, the Committee targets to submit its committee report by next week.

Poe said that she will sponsor the said bill at the plenary on September 25 and expects to make it into a law before the end of the year.

The rookie Senator believes that it’s important for the FOI Bill to become a law in order for the public be able to have a say in watching over the country’s funds.

Also, the lady Senator is expecting for the President to certify it as an Urgent bill amid all the on-going controversial cases plaguing the country.   (Judie Anne Abejero)
