Junior AAFP officers unsatisfied with PNOY’s take on Zamboanga standoff
Malacanang isn’t taking seriously the alleged dismay of some junior officers from the Armed Forces of the Philippines regarding President Benigno Aquino III’s way of handling the current Zamboanga City standoff and the Pork Barrel scam.
Presidential Spokesman Sec. Edwin Lacierda gave the statement after the group of Reformed Office Union of the AFP aired out their sentiments because they grew tired of the countless failures of the government to respond to the Zamboanga siege by the group of former Moro National Liberation Front Chairman Nur Misuari.
According to Sec. Lacierda, Malacanang isn’t bothered by the alleged destabilization plot by the group because the administration manages to provide the needs and concerns of its soldiers.
Lacierda insisted that the Aquino administration doesn’t miss in giving in with what the soldiers need, like their benefits, equipment and even housing.
The Presidential Spokesman clarified that they have no idea of any intel report regarding an impending strike from the junior officers of the AFP.
“We have not heard (of it) and we are not bothered by the concerns because we have addressed the concerns of the AFP and also the Philippine National Police. We know their concerns. We have addressed them. Some of them, for instance, housing we have addressed the housing concerns of both the AFP and the PNP. In fact, we have extended the housing program. It started, I think, we have built more than 20 thousand (units). I think more than 36 thousand unit have been built. I can give you the figures later. But we have addressed the concerns of the AFP and the PNP”, said Lacierda.
