Program Description

1:00-4:00AM, Monday – Saturday

OFWs from all over the world flood the phone lines and chatbox to interact with DZRH’s romantic icon – Manny Bal.  His program called “For Lovers Only” is a link home.  Pinoys here and abroad get to share their joys and angst -- they can even do videoke on the air as if they home with their loved ones.  For taxi drivers, insomniacs and other nocturnal Pinoys, the program is a consistent buddy that keeps them awake even at those odd hours.

4:00 – 4:10; 4:00 – 5:00AM Monday – Saturday

You first hear the headlines with Andy Vital before they hit the news stand.  Andy serves you the headlines— fresh and hot, just the way you want your breakfast.

5:00 – 6:00AM, Monday – Saturday

Vice President Noli De Castro once said: “the 5-9AM timeslot on the radio airwaves is Joe Taruc’s”. Even rivals have confessed that they try to avoid JT’s time, not only because they respect the man but also because they know it is almost impossible to penetrate the airwaves when JT is their rival.  Together with Rey Sibayan, Joe spends a quarter of the time for no-nonsense commentaries on the days pressing issues. The remaining 45 minutes are allotted for newscast and reporting.

6:00 – 7:00AM Monday – Saturday

JT, going solo, intelligently tackles and makes an in-depth analysis of important national issues. He interviews movers and shakers to balance commentaries.  Joe is quick to praise and congratulate newsmakers but fearlessly lambasts corrupt politicians. At the end of every interview, results are always seen unfolding.  As side dish to JT’s commentaries, live reports from different beats and provinces are frequently aired.  To spice up the second hour is Atty. Rhina Seco’s Usapang Legal, discussing common legal questions.

7:30 – 9:00AM, Monday – Saturday

JT then teams up with Karen Golfo.  They lead into the traffic report, which comes in live through ‘Eye in the Sky’.   DZRH prides itself in being the only station that makes use of its own chopper to assess the traffic situation in the metro.

Damdaming Bayan caters to listeners’ reactions and qualms on issues affecting them.  JT, in his 4th hour on the air, displays his knowledge and dedication to public service.
